This solution of going into Credential Manager, and typing over the passwords worked for me. I had tried to delete them, and other steps in this article. We've only seen this issue in Windows 10, and we usually do a Full Online Repair, and then create a new Profile to fix it. Typing over the password is much easier! This totally fixed my issue! I had to change the secure log in to a key so that i could check mark the encrypt data between Microsoft out and Microsoft Exchange. Wow, thank you, tried 20 other fixes but this one was the one that worked. Wednesday, April 17, PM. The prompt then asked me for PIN, which i didnt know so clicked 'try alternative method', to which allowed me to enter my usual password, now i can close and reopen Outlook and the password isn't asked of me anymore!

Wednesday, June 5, PM. Here is the thing. Under the Info section it is selected by default , click on the Account Settings and then pick Account Settings from the drop-down menu.
This will open the Account Settings dialog. Select the E-mail tab, and then double-click on the email account for which you want to change the password. Just type your new email password over the old one, and click Next to save your changes. Now you've successfully changed Outlook email password. When Outlook sends or receives messages, it will supply your new credentials to the mail server.
